Colorado: A wildfire triggers an evacuation alert between Allenspark and Lyons in Boulder County

Authorities issued an evacuation alert Tuesday morning for some residents in the Dry Creek St. Vrain Trail area of Boulder County, Colorado, due to a wildfire burning in the area.
According to CBS, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office issued the warning at 9:38 a.m. regarding the fire located north of Highway 7, near Forest Service 920 Road.
Emergency officials indicated that smoke from the Dry Creek Fire could be visible from the area between Lyons and Allenspark.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the alert covers the area north of Riverside, east of Allenspark, and west of Lyons, on land owned by the U.S. Forest Service. The area lies between South Sheep Mountain and Coffintop Mountain.
Authorities urged residents living in the area to prepare to evacuate and have ready any items they may need in case they have to leave their homes.
Officials also urged residents to sign up for the emergency alert system to receive information and possible evacuation instructions.
