The mystery surrounding the identity of the prominent BBC presenter under investigation for allegedly paying a teenager for explicit photos is over. Huw Edwards’ wife reported that he was the one involved in the controversy.

Vicky Flind, the wife of the famous British news network anchor, announced that Edwards is the one accused of having given a 17-year-old boy $45,000 to take sexual photos of himself.

In the statement, Flind reported that her husband has been suffering from “serious mental health issues” and that since he is now receiving hospital care, she decided to speak out on Edwards’ behalf about what happened.

“I am making this statement on behalf of my husband Huw Edwards, after what have been five extremely difficult days for our family. I am doing this primarily out of concern for his mental well-being and to protect our children,” she said before announcing that Edwards received notice of the indictment against him last Thursday.

The presenter’s wife reported that recent events have worsened Edwards’ severe depression, which is precisely why he will continue to receive hospital care for some time.

“In the circumstances and given Huw’s condition I would like to ask that the privacy of my family and everyone else caught up in these upsetting events is respected. I know that Huw is deeply sorry that so many colleagues have been impacted by the recent media speculation. We hope this statement will bring that to an end,” she wrote.

Police close investigation

The Metropolitan Police reported completing their investigation and concluded that no action would be taken because they do not believe Edwards has committed any criminal offenses. Despite this, the BBC reported that it will conduct its own investigation to ensure due process and clear up any suspicions that may exist.
