Another surprise took place at the Qatar World Cup in Group E. After Argentina's shocking defeat against Saudi Arabia yesterday, Japan escaped with a narrow victory over a Germany side that dominated the ball and the game.

The German national team took the lead with a penalty goal by Ilkay Gündogan in the 32nd minute. Germany's total held the lead until the 74th minute, when Ritsu Doan equalized for Japan. Eight minutes later, Takuma Asano elated the Japanese fans with a great goal to put them ahead.

The German players took to the field with their mouths covered as a symbol of protest against the organization of the Qatar World Cup and the host country.

Elsewhere, in the first match of Group F, Luka Modric's Croatia drew against Morocco and goalkeeper Yassine "Bono" Bounou. Bono was the star of the match, with a stellar performance against the Balkan team.

Belgium won narrowly (1-0) against Canada in the other Group F match. The North Americans played with courage and determination against one of the best teams in the world. Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois became the hero of the match by saving a penalty kick.
