Ilhan Omar calls the search of her home an 'abuse of power' and accuses Trump of 'weaponizing federal law enforcement to persecute political enemies'

Representative Ilhan Omar was defiant following the search of her home and stated that she will not be "silenced" over what she described as an "abuse of power" and "unprecedented escalation in the weaponization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies" by Donald Trump.
A member of the radical faction The Squad responded on social media to the arrival of agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), a division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). A spokesperson for the agency said that authorities executed a court-authorized search warrant in the Washington, DC, area.

Ilhan Omar took to social media to declare herself a victim of a political witch hunt by Donald Trump. This is nothing new, according to the Democratic representative: "For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation."

Omar's office accuses Trump of making her "a target to be taken down"
Shortly afterward, the congresswoman's office also took to social media to reiterate its defense of Omar, who had long been under investigation into alleged immigration fraud:
