President Donald Trump harshly criticized the organizers of the Nobel Prize for awarding the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to South African judge Navi Pillay, whom he said "celebrated" and "rewarded the terrorist group Hamas and accused of being an "unabashed hater" of the U.S.-Israel alliance.

Shortly after Pillay's award was announced, Trump reposted a Truth Social post in which the author insinuated that the organizers of the Nobel Prize have lost all credibility by making this decision.

"The Nobel Committee shamed itself beyond repair and demeaned the once great Nobel Peace Prize by giving it to the UN’s Navi Pillay," the post by the user Schoenlaw stated. "Pillay is an unabashed hater of America and Israel. In her position she celebrated terrorists and rewarded Hamas."

"She conducted a phony ‘investigation’ claiming to find that Israel committed genocide and urging prosecution. She has no credibility in any normal sphere and has never done a thing to foster peace. Just the opposite. But what could be expected from a committee that previously gave the once coveted peace prize to Yasser Arafat?" it added.

The poster listed all the reasons he had why the Nobel Prize committee should have awarded Trump the prize.

"President Trump gave us the Abraham Accords, which the world said would be impossible and is now expanding them! He brought home the hostages when all seemed hopeless! He is making best efforts to end the Russia/Ukraine war, to stop Iran, the number one sponsor of international terrorism, and he is trying to rebuild Gaza despite the terrorists’ best efforts to control it. The list goes on and on. These are the kinds of things the Nobel Peace Prize was intended to recognize and reward!!!" he concluded.

Netanyahu takes aim at Pillay for being anti-Israel

Another figure who harshly criticized the Nobel Prize committee was Benjamin Netanyahu. In a social media post, the Israeli prime minister noted that the Nobel Prize had been awarded to a "bigot who built her career around inventing and propagating blood libels against the one and only Jewish state."

"Navi Pillay’s proudest achievement was to legitimize a corrupt prosecutor who turned to her fabrications against Israel hoping that by joining her bigoted lynch mob, he would beat a rape charge," Netanyahu added, referring to Karim Khan, a former prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) who was accused by several female employees of rape and sexual harassment.
