Blinken confirms that at least 27 Americans have been killed by Hamas
The secretary of state assured from Tel Aviv that the number of innocent victims continues to increase.
At least 27 Americans have been killed by the Hamas terrorist group since it began carrying out attacks against Israel. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed the figure Thursday during a White House briefing.
"Tragically, the number of innocent lives claimed by Hamas's heinous attacks continues to rise ... We join families in Israel, the United States and around the world in mourning their immeasurable loss," Blinken said in an appearance after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Aside from those killed, at least 17 Americans are missing or have been taken hostage by Hamas, according to White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby. He pointed out, in a press conference held Wednesday, that the number of missing people could increase:
