An official Chinese Communist Party newspaper issued a warning to Elon Musk after the billionaire shared a report on the theory that the coronavirus escaped from a Wuhan lab.

Tesla's CEO used social media to respond to a tweet that pointed out that the pandemic broke out in a research lab in the Asian country. Elon Musk's public support of the possibility that covid-19 originated in China generated the annoyance of the regime that has been refuting this theory from the beginning.

It was the Global Times, the English-language subsidiary of People's Daily, controlled by the Chinese regime, which showed the anger of the Asian giant, by expressing that the CEO of Twitter could be "breaking the pot of China", an expression that would be equivalent to "biting the hand that feeds him".

Eunice Yoon, a correspondent for CNBC, explained that the report that Musk promoted through his social networks points out several arguments that are usually used by "anti-China" media and the Chinese Communist Party has so far been very sensitive to this theory, especially now that it is seeking foreign investments.

It is worth remembering that Tesla has a key manufacturing center in Shanghai. In addition, China is the second largest market for Musk's electric car company, and while this is not the first time the billionaire has gotten into trouble for comments on his social media, Musk's electric vehicle company has already suffered complications and its competitors in Asia have caused it to lose ground.

At the end of last year, a report came out indicating that following the suspension of activities in one of the company's most important plants, located precisely in Shanghai.
