Las Vegas Aces player A'ja Wilson made history by winning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the fifth time in her career from the WNBA, a record for the country's top women's basketball league.

Having won the award in 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025, she is also the first player to be named MVP in three consecutive seasons.

"Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson has been named the 2026 Kia WNBA Most Valuable Player," the league announced in a press release.

Wilson received 65 of 74 first-place votes and nine second-place votes, edging out rookie Olivia Miles (Minnesota Lynx), Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever), Caitlin Clark (Fever), and Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty).

In the NBA, the only two players to have won the MVP award at least five times are Michael Jordan and Bill Russell.

Wilson led the Aces to the championship last year, just as they did in 2022 and 2023.
