NFL: Odell Beckham Jr. joins the Vikings

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., a Super Bowl LVI champion with the Los Angeles Rams, has joined the Minnesota Vikings, a franchise where he will be reunited with coach Kevin O'Connell.

"Odell Beckham is getting another shot. The Minnesota Vikings have signed the veteran receiver to their practice squad," reported the National Football League (NFL) in a statement.

This news comes just a week after the New York Giants released Beckham Jr., bringing an end to his second stint with the New York franchise.

O'Connell welcomed back a player he has known for years, from their time together with the Rams.

"Obviously, I have a great history with him dating back to 2021; I spent a lot of time with him when he arrived midseason and got him ready to help us, and the impact he had down the stretch that season was crucial," O'Connell said on Wednesday.

"I'm looking forward to getting him up and running," he added.

Beckham Jr. joins the Vikings to fill in for Justin Jefferson, who is out with an ankle injury.

Beckham was selected 12th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Giants and spent five successful seasons with New York, scoring 44 touchdowns, before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019

He remained with the Ohio franchise until November 2021, when he made the move to the Rams. He subsequently signed with the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins before returning to the Giants.
