The Dodgers shut out the Giants 2-0 with home runs by Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants on Friday, fueled by home runs by Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages in the second inning and a standout performance by pitcher Tarik Skubal.
Skubal allowed just three hits over seven innings, struck out 10 batters and did not walk any. The pitcher earned his 12th win of the season, improving his record to 12-7.
It was Skubal's 10th start with the Dodgers since the team acquired him from the Detroit Tigers on Aug. 2. Los Angeles has won all six of his previous starts, and the pitcher is 4-0 in his last four decisions, which span six starts.
The reigning Cy Young Award winner in the American League also recorded his fourth game of the season with at least 10 strikeouts, his second since arriving in Los Angeles.
Hernández and Pages accounted for Los Angeles' only hits
The Dodgers built their entire lead in the second inning.
Teoscar Hernández hit the first of two home runs, and later, Andy Pages also sent the ball out of the park to make the score 2-0.
San Francisco's starting pitcher, Yunior Marte, allowed both home runs among the six hits he gave up over five innings. Marte took the loss, dropping his record to 0-2.

Sasaki and Scott completed the shutout
After Skubal's exit, Roki Sasaki pitched a perfect eighth inning and struck out two batters.
Tanner Scott took over in the ninth inning and earned his 24th save of the season.
The game lasted just 1 hour, 53 minutes, making it the second-fastest game in the 27-year history of San Francisco’s stadium, according to MLB. It was also the fastest Dodgers-Giants game since a 1-hour, 50-minute game played on Aug. 30, 1958.
Ohtani continues to find his rhythm after his return
Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his third game since returning from the injured list, where he spent 13 games due to discomfort in his right biceps.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, have won six straight games against the Giants and are 7-4 against San Francisco this season, securing the season series for the fifth consecutive season.
During that five-season span, Los Angeles has a 47-22 record against the Giants.
Snell will start on Saturday
The Dodgers will continue the series this Saturday with left-hander Blake Snell, who has a 4-1 record and a 1.86 ERA.
Snell will face his former team, while San Francisco will send left-hander Matt Wilkinson to the mound, who has a record of 1-3 and a 3.65 ERA.
