Brewers' Venezuelan-led lineup brings them closer to 100 wins
Milwaukee has reached 99 wins and is just one win away from reaching 100 for the first time in a season, while Venezuelans Jackson Chourio and William Contreras are standing out in the home stretch.

The Milwaukee Brewers are one win away from reaching 100 wins for the first time in franchise history.
Milwaukee defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 on Wednesday, improving its record to 99-59. The team will now seek the one win it needs to reach a milestone never before achieved in its history.
This season, Venezuelans Jackson Chourio and William Contreras have played a major part for the Brewers.
Chourio, 22, made history last Sunday by becoming the first player in Major League Baseball history to record three seasons with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases before turning 23. The Venezuelan reached 20 stolen bases to complement his 24 home runs.
Contreras also played a key role in Milwaukee's 99th victory. The Venezuelan catcher hit a two-run single in the third inning, extending the Brewers' lead to 4-1.
Contreras had hit his 18th home run of the season three days earlier, in a 3-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles that allowed Milwaukee to set the franchise's win record at 98.
Now the Brewers are one win away from 100, a mark they have never reached in a single season.

Ben Rice hit two home runs, his 40th and 41st of the season, while Ryan McMahon drove in five runs to tie his career high, including a grand slam. Cole once again delivered a strong performance on the mound.
The win gave the Yankees a 91-67 record and secured home-field advantage in the American League Wild Card Series, which will be a best-of-three series starting next week.
Rice opened the scoring in the first inning with a home run on the first pitch that landed in the second deck in right field. In the fourth inning, he hit another solo home run to record the fifth multi-home run game of his career.
He finished the night with three hits and is now tied for the American League home run lead with Baltimore's Pete Alonso, Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero and Houston's Yordan Álvarez.
