Simone Biles becomes the most decorated gymnast in history
The American athlete achieved her sixth all-around title at the World Cup in Antwerp, Belgium.
Simone Biles was crowned for the sixth time with the all-around title, equaling the mark of the Japan’s Kohei Uchimura. With Friday's victory at the World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, she also won her twenty-first gold medal in a World Championship. Adding her World Cup and Olympic awards, she is now the most decorated gymnast in history in both the female and male categories.
The Sportpaleis Antwerp sports palace, was the same one where a 16-year-old Biles won her first all-around title a decade ago. "The gold medal means everything" Biles said after the medal ceremony. "It means strength, courage, the fight, tenacity. It has been such a long journey to get back here and feel comfortable and confident to compete again."
