President Donald Trump has chosen conservative commentator Katie Zacharia as the new White House press secretary, a White House official said Friday.
Zacharia served as spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from February to April 2026 and is a regular commentator on Fox News and Newsmax.
"She was offered the position" of press secretary, the White House source confirmed.

Zacharia regularly contributes to two media companies linked to the president, Trump Media and Technology Group, as well as to his platform, Truth Social.
She is also a member of the conservative organization Fix California, founded by a close associate of Donald Trump, Richard Grenell.
A doctor of law, she lived in China for two years, from 2011 to 2013, where she worked for a law firm. Katie Zacharia is married and has four children.
