The Biden administration has decided to remove the statue of Pennsylvania's founder, William Penn, from a park located in Philadelphia called Welcome Park with the goal of "offering a more welcoming, accurate, and inclusive experience for visitors." This decision, in accordance with the guidelines of the left, is part of a land rehabilitation project.

The name of the park honors the ship with which Penn landed in America in the 17th century. The National Park Service (NPS), the agency in charge of executing this woke initiative, issued a statement explaining the reason for this decision:

The Penn statue and Slate Roof house model will be removed and not reinstalled. The proposed rehabilitation of Welcome Park includes expanded interpretation of the Native American history of Philadelphia.

The NPS confirmed that "a separate and future effort, new exhibit panels will be installed on the south site wall to replace the Penn timeline," without clarifying the date of completion.

Criticism of the initiative

Social media was filled with criticism of the Biden administration for deciding to remove the Penn monument from Welcome Park. The conservative think tank Center for Renewing America accused neo-Marxists of "rewriting history":

"Our history is being erased and rewritten before our very eyes," the End Wokeness account wrote.
