A new Cochrane Library review reported that several trials indicate that the use of face masks makes "little or no" difference in reducing the spread of Covid-19 and other respiratory diseases.

According to the nonprofit health sciences database organization, there have been at least a dozen research studies from six different countries comparing and contrasting the effectiveness medical and surgical masks have when it comes to reducing the spread of viral respiratory diseases. It was determined that they do little to nothing to reduce the spread of certain diseases, including Covid-19.

"Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza‐like illness (ILI)/Covid-19 like illness compared to not wearing masks," the Cochrane Library stated.

In fact, City Journal explained that as intuitive as it may be to wear masks, they still allow viruses to spread by aerosol even when worn correctly.

The City Journal also pointed out that social, psychological, and medical problems have arisen from the use of masks, but that most health officials and even the media have ignored the disadvantages of masks.

"Yet public-health officials, in violation of the first-do-no-harm principle, continue recommending or mandating masks without good evidence of their effectiveness or any pretense of cost-benefit analysis. Masks are still required in many hospitals and other institutions," the text states.

"A pro-freedom action"

One of the politicians who recently decided to make a change in favor of freedom was Florida governor Ron DeSantis. A few weeks ago he announced a new legislative proposal that will ban companies from requiring employees to wear face masks and be vaccinated against Covid-19.

A statement from the governor's office said that the new bill is "a pro-freedom action" that will "permanently protect Floridians from losing their jobs due to Covid-19 vaccine mandates."
