Vladimir Putin praises Biden and confesses he prefers him over Trump in White House
Russia's president revealed his preference for the 2024 presidential election, which for now has Trump as the favorite.
With the presidential election drawing closer, major figures in politics and entertainment are already officially endorsing their preferred candidates. From Donald Trump and Joe Biden to Nikki Haley or Dean Phillips, they all have lists of people supporting their respective candidacies. However, in the last few hours, Vladimir Putin revealed his preference for the White House.
In a recent interview, the Russian president was asked about his preference for the U.S. presidential elections. Without dodging the issue, the president gave a name: Joe Biden.
"He's more experienced, he's predictable, he's an old-school politician," Putin added, understanding that the best option for his interests is an eventual victory of the Democratic candidate.
At the same time, the Russian president expressed himself on the controversy with Biden's age, doubting, in fact, that he is "incapable" of being president. As he noted, the last time they met Biden was "nothing like that," directly referring to accusations of poor memory. "Who of us hasn't banged their head on something?" he added.
Putin also noted that what worries him most is not his counterpart's health but Washington's policy, which he called "extremely harmful and wrong."
Trump received criticism throughout his stay in the White House for his relationship with Putin, even being accused of being in cahoots with the Russian president. Indeed, Trump recently declared that he would "encourage" Russia to do "whatever it wants" with NATO allies who fail to meet their defense spending targets.
