Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office received a suspicious package that included white powder and a death threat, authorities have confirmed.

On Friday, the Postal Service delivered the envelope containing a note that read,"Alvin - I’ll kill you." Authorities determined that the contents of the package were "non-hazardous," Fox News reported. However, the FBI and the NYPD are continuing their investigations.

The development comes as Bragg conducts an investigation against former President Donald Trump over a $130,000 payment made in 2016 to Stormy Daniels. Trump himself previously announced that he expected to be arrested, citing leaks from the U.S. attorney's office.

Hakeem Jeffries accuses Trump of being "reckless, reprehensible and irresponsible"

News of the package comes to light as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries criticized the way Trump is defending himself against the allegations. The Democrat described the former president's "rhetoric" as "reckless, reprehensible and irresponsible":

The twice-impeached former president's rhetoric is reckless, reprehensible and irresponsible. It's dangerous and, if he keeps it up, he's going to get someone killed. ... We’ve already seen the consequences of incitement from the former president. He is principally responsible for inciting the violent insurrection that happened on January 6. But clearly he has not learned his lesson.
