Twitter continues to lose senior managers in charge of content moderation. On Thursday, Ella Irwin, the company's top trust and safety official, resigned. Hours later, Reuters reported that another executive was leaving the company: A.J. Brown, the head of brand safety and advertising quality. He held the position since 2022, and he announced his resignation his LinkedIn profile, where he says that he left the social network in June 2023.

This is the second departure of a Twitter content moderation official in a short period of time. This follows the the controversy the social network maintained with The Daily Wire after censoring its documentary “What Is A Woman?” Elon Musk lifted the ban on the film, and, since then, it has had more than 100,000 views.

Brown, who joined the company in 2018, was directly involved in assuring advertising companies that Twitter is a safe place for them to promote themselves. The job was complicated by the departure of several advertisers after the arrival of new CEO Elon Musk.

Musk intends to solve this problem with the arrival of his replacement, Linda Yaccarino. She is an expert in the advertising business, having worked for more than a decade as head of advertising for NBCUniversal. In fact, her job as CEO will focus primarily on commercial operations, while Musk will step back and focus on product design and new technologies.
