New polling shows Republicans leading or in dead heats in nine key Senate races
There are 33 Senate races this year in the 100-seat chamber now controlled by Republicans. Democrats need to win a net total of four seats to retake control of the chamber.

People are casting their ballots on the second day of early voting ahead of the midterm elections.
New polling released by the group Interactive Polls shows the Republican candidate leading or in dead heats in nine of the key 2026 Senate races that will decide which political party will have the majority next year in the upper chamber.
The group, a non-partisan aggregator of polls, news, prediction markets and election results, shows in its poll released Thursday:
- Incumbent Kansas GOP Sen. Roger Marshall leading by 5 points
- Incumbent Nebraska GOP Sen. Pete Ricketts leading by 5 points
- Incumbent Alaska GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan leading by 2 points
- Incumbent Maine GOP Sen. Susan Collins leading by 2 points
- Incumbent Ohio GOP Sen. John Husted leading by 1 point
- Iowa GOP Rep. Ashley Hinson leading by 4 points (for an open seat)
