A 27-year-old British-Iranian national was arrested on Thursday in connection with an incident at a United Kingdom base used by U.S. forces, according to British police.
The man was arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, the New York Times reported.
Counterterrorism police also questioned a 26-year-old British national, the authorities said in a statement. In line with British policing rules, neither suspect was named.
“The investigation into circumstances surrounding events in Gloucestershire is hugely complex, and our specialist teams are interrogating multiple lines of inquiry,” said Vicki Evans, the senior national coordinator for Counterterrorism Policing.
