X (Twitter) rolls out audio and video calls

The owner of the company, Elon Musk, confirmed the information on his X account and shared instructions that explain how to activate this feature.

Entrepreneur Elon Musk reported that social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is rolling out a new tool for making audio and video calls. Musk released a message this Wednesday explaining how to enable the new feature.

Musk explained that this is an early version which means there could be changes down the road. "Early version of video and audio calling on X," wrote the platform's owner.

The platform has undergone several changes since Elon Musk bought the company. For example, one of the most recent was when the platform announced that it was testing a new subscription model that would charge users $1 per year.

Elon Musk announced that reading content will continue to be free. New users will only have to pay that amount if they want to post or interact on the platform.

Correct, read for free, but $1/year to write. It’s the only way to fight bots without blocking real users. This won’t stop bots completely, but it will be 1000X harder to manipulate the platform.
