Dr. Robert Malone spoke about the concern generated by the possibility that the Government will reimpose restrictions due to the newly detected variants of COVID-19.
Recently, several media outlets have again questioned whether it is necessary to wear masks and take other sanitary measures due to the variants that have emerged from the pandemic virus and the alleged increase in hospitalizations recently.
However, Malone, a research scientist, explained that the situation is not as dire as some claim and that the fear of returning to restrictions is unjustified. He asked that people not give in to "fear porn," which he believes is stoked by the mainstream media.
"I personally believe that this is more fear porn. It's not justified. There's absolutely no evidence that there's going to be a need to reimpose," Dr. Malone told Just the News, noting that if one digs deeper into the real risks of the new variants, it becomes apparent that they don't seem that threatening.
According to Malone, people are being "pummeled with fear about extinction-level events" and explained that this is not only happening with COVID-19 but also happening with "human-induced climate change, infectious disease, [carbon-based] energy, and the fear of nuclear war."

"Relatively harmless" variants
Science writer Robert Zimmerman wrote about the latest variants that have emerged from COVID-19 on his blog "Behind The Black," assuring that all recent variants are "relatively harmless, hardly different than catching a cold."
The scientist also referred to the recent announcement made by a Biden Administration official about the possibility of the Government once again urging Americans to get a booster vaccine against COVID-19.
"The arrival of this new, very mild strain is causing it to consider returning to some of the same insane policies that failed so miserably in 2020 and 2021," Zimmerman said, adding that he does not agree with reinstating obligations of the use of masks nor with imposing social distancing or having repeated temperature controls.
"No study before, during, or after the COVID epidemic has found any evidence any of these policies reduce the spread of these respiratory viruses, while many studies have repeatedly found some of these policies — especially masks — carry risks and can be harmful," he insisted.
