What time polling stations close

The definitive moment is approaching. At the closing of the polling places, counting will begin and the results will begin to be be known.

Countdown to the winner of the mid-term elections. Americans have already begun voting at their polling places in midterms in which a majority in Congress and the office of governor are at stake in 36 states. After the vote, we will begin to have some, but not all, of the results, as White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. Each state will have a different closing time for its polling places.

At 7:00 p.m. polls close in Georgia and Virginia, we will begin to get the first counts. In Georgia, Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker is challenging Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock for the seat. On the other hand, Brian Kemp is favored to retain his gubernatorial seat over Stacey Abrams. The two already faced each other in 2018.

Half an hour later, at 7:30 p.m. polls close in Ohio and North Carolina. J.D. Vance, of the MAGA movement, is running against Democratic candidate Tim Ryan for the Ohio Senate seat.

Pennsylvania and northeastern states such as New Hampshire, Maine or Rhode Island close the polling places at 8:00 p. m. One of the most mediatic duels of these midterms is between John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz, from the Democratic and Republican Party respectively, to be the next senator for Pennsylvania. On the other hand, Marco Rubio is the favorite to continue as senator for Florida.

Many states close their centers at 9:00 p.m. Among them Arizona, where Kari Lake (R) and Katie Hobbs (D) aspire to be the next governor. At the same time, polls also close in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, New York, Wisconsin and Texas, where Republican candidate Mayra Flores is seeking to retain her seat in the House of Representatives.

Nevada and Utah close their ballots at 10:00 p.m.; California, Washington and Oregon at 11:00 p.m.; and Alaska and Hawaii are last(00:00 a.m. ).

- 10:00 p.m.: Nevada, Idaho, Nevada and Utah.

- 11:00 p.m.: California, Wisconsin and Oregon.
