What remains to be determined: the role the FBI played in the censorship of Twitter

Even FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan accepted that there was communication between the Bureau and the social networks.

Elon Musk is keeping his word and is bringing to light all the information about Hunter Biden's laptop case that Twitter hid during the social network's previous administration.

In fact, last Friday, December 2, revelations began highlighting that this would be a "first installment" based exclusively on the "modus operandi" used to suppress the story of the president's son.

Journalist Matthew C. Taibbi was in charge of making all the information public and showing proof of everything he was telling.

One of the biggest revelations he made was that the social network even opted to take extreme measures that are only used for child pornography cases to cover the entire case before the election.

However, there are still big questions about the story, as it has not yet been determined exactly what role the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) played in the whole censorship process.

What is known about the FBI's role

In the thread the journalist created on Twitter, he mentioned that indeed several sources reported noticing "general" warnings from federal security forces about alleged "hacks" abroad. But there is still a lot of information to be provided.

According to Hunter Biden's former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, the FBI was not only involved in the censorship of the case, but even decided to discard evidence that Bobulinski had handed over alleging crimes committed by the U.S. president's family.

Later, Missouri and Louisiana Attorneys General Eric Schmitt and Jeff Landry charged that agency officials effectively got involved in the case to cover up the whole story and named FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan as one of the people who played a relevant role between the FBI's communication with social media platforms.

Chan himself recently acknowledged that he himself arranged weekly meetings with Twitter and Facebook in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

Another information that revealed the FBI's role in this matter was provided by Yoel Roth, Twitter executive at the time, as he also spoke about some meetings in which he was informed that there might be hacking operations and leaks by state actors involving the son of the now U.S. president.

However, this will probably all come out later with the other "installments" that Taibbi will bring out about the story.
