Two missing American minors found alive in Mexico

Siblings Aranza Yosemiti and Hugo Yarset were found in Veracruz and have been reunited with their family.

The Prosecutor's Office of the state of Nuevo Leon in northern Mexico has successfully ended the search for the two American minors who disappeared last Friday near Monterrey.

The siblings, Aranza Yosemiti and Hugo Yarset Monfort Luna, were located Tuesday in the coastal city of Veracruz, further south. According to local Mexican press, the minors reportedly ran away from home because of family problems. The reasons have not been further detailed to the press.

The Nuevo Leon Prosecutor's Office activated an Amber Alert to locate the two minors, who apparently traveled on their own from northern Mexico to Veracruz. According to the prosecutor's office, they are already with their parents.

The disappearance of the children occurred shortly after the abduction and murder of several American tourists in Mexico by drug cartels . Another U.S. citizen has been missing in Mexico since February.
