Tulsi Gabbard endorses two Trump candidates for midterm elections

A day after leaving the Democratic Party, he gave his support to Joe Kent for the House and Don Bolduc for the Senate.

Tulsi Gabbard, who recently announced she was leaving the Democratic Party, will campaign for two Republican candidates: Joe Kent, who is running for the House of Representatives for Washington's 3rd District, and Don Bolduc, who is running for senator in New Hampshire. Both candidates have been endorsed by Donald Trump.

Gabbard, who served in the House from 2013 to 2021 and was vice chair of the Democratic Party from 2013 to 2016, announced last Tuesday that she was leaving the party. These were her reasons:

I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism. Who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. Who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality. Who demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans. Who believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, who are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.

The former Democrat encouraged her "fellow common sense independent-minded Democrats" to do the same. She referenced one of the most celebrated quotes from the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln. She said she believes "in a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Unfortunately, today’s Democratic Party does not. Instead, it stands for a government of, by, and for the powerful elite."

Support for Joe Kent

In an ad that is part of Republican Joe Kent's campaign, Tulsi Gabbard says that President Biden's open border policies...

...have led to a crime and drug epidemic that is killing people and make us less safe. My friend Joe Kent is a fighter. He has dedicated his life to ensure the safety, security and freedom of the American people and our country.

Joe Kent defeated Jaime Herrera Beutler, who currently holds the House seat for Washington's 3rd District, in the primary. Herrera is one of the "impeachment 10" who was defeated by Donald Trump's nominees.

Don Bolduc

The former Democrat has also endorsed New Hampshire's Republican senatorial candidate, Don Bolduc. In the primary, Bolduc defeated Chuck Morse, a powerful New Hampshire politician with the backing of the Republican establishment.

Bolduc is a retired general and is considered very right-wing. In fact, his campaign within the Republican primary was supported by the Democratic Party, with the goal that whoever ran against Senator Maggie Hassan (D) would be a very conservative candidate in a mostly blue state. Now, it is the former Democrat Gabbard who is supporting him.

Mr. Bolduc has welcomed Tulsi Gabbard's support:
