Donald Trump's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said motions will be filed to dismiss the former president's case and said there is "zero chance" that he will accept a plea deal.
"President Trump will not take a plea deal in this case. It's not going to happen," Tacopina said adding that the former president did not commit any crime. In fact, in a recent interview for ABC, the lawyer pointed out that the case seems like a "joke".
"'This case is not even legally sufficient – factually, it's a joke," he said.
Tacopina also explained that since they believe that the lawsuit is actually politically motivated, they may have to prepare for a "battle." "This is something that, obviously, we believe is political persecution and I think people on both sides of the aisle believe that. It's a complete abuse of power," he said.

The charges against Trump
Next Tuesday, Trump will go to court in Manhattan to find out exactly what the charges against him will be.
However, it is known that the former president will be charged with criminal charges for allegedly paying a porn actress in exchange for her silence with money to finance the electoral campaign.
"The worst, weakest and most abusive case of fiscal indiscretion in my 60 years of practicing law. I have never seen a weaker case. I've never seen a case that would be so easy to win if the person wasn't named Donald Trump and the city wasn't New York. There is a risk that he may lose with some of the 12 New York jurors who will be terrified to go home to their family and friends and say we acquitted Trump. So this is the most abusive case I've ever seen," attorney Alan Dershowitz said of the case.
