Three out of four Americans distrust Biden's physical and mental condition

According to a survey, 77% expressed concern about the state of the president‘s health, and 67% felt that he is "too old" to run for re-election.

Joe Biden has yet to officially announce his candidacy for re-election in 2024. However, there have been some indications from the president, including affirmation that he will run by his wife Jill Biden. Voters, on the other hand are not convinced that he should continue, due in part to his physical and mental state.

According to a Yahoo and YouGov poll, more than three out of four respondents (77%) showed some level of concern about the president's health and mental acuity. Thirty-nine percent indicated that they were "very concerned," followed by 21% who are "somewhat concerned" and 17% who expressed "slight” concern.

There have been numerous occasions when the president's statements or actions seemed off the mark or disturbing, such as when he referred this week to the treatment he received from nurses while he was hospitalized for two brain aneurysms in 1988. His physical capacity is also an area of concern. A few days ago, Biden stumbled again on the steps of Air Force One in Warsaw, Poland.

"Too old"

Nearly seven out of ten (67%) felt that he is "too old" to try to serve another term. In the 2024 elections, the president will be 82 years old and 86 at the end of a hypothetical second term. 48% of Democrats indicated that age is an handicap for Biden, while 34% said it is not.

Another question was whether voters believe Biden is competent for the job of president. Nearly half (49%) responded that he is not, compared to 35% who said he is. Moreover, should he decide to run, he currently has only 47% support from Democratic voters.
