Taylor Swift makes history on the 'Billboard Hot 100'

The country singer has taken over the top ten spots on the famous list thanks to her new album 'Midnights.'

Taylor Swift broke a new record. Ten of her songs currently hold the top ten spots on the Billboard Hot 100. She is the first artist to achieve this milestone. This record could have been extended, since her songs also claim numbers 13, 14 and 15, while 11 and 12 go to Sam Smith and Kim Petras for their song "Unholy" and Steve Lacy for his song "Bad Habit," respectively.

It is the first time that a single artist has had ten of their songs take over the Top 10 spots in the 64 years that the list has been around. This is something that the singer achieved after the release of her latest album, as the ten songs that made the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 are part of her new album titled Midnights. The country singer has already thanked her fans for making this milestone possible, which, for her, has an even more special meaning as it comes with her tenth album:

As reported by CNN, Drake is the only singer to ever come close to achieving what Taylor Swift did in just a few short weeks. Back in September, 2021, he managed to have nine of his songs in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for an entire week.

This is not the only milestone Swift has achieved thanks to her new album. The singer sold over one million copies in the U.S. just three days after releasing Midnights. She also became the most played artist on Spotify in the 24-hours following the album's release in mid-October.

Swift announces her new tour

All of these milestones have helped Taylor Swift announce her new tour earlier than expected. According to Infobae, the tour will be named Taylor Swift / The Eras Tour and will kick off on March 18, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. It will be the first time in five years that the singer will perform throughout the country. The singer herself announced the good news on her Instagram account.
