Target Corp. forced to recall five million candles for causing burns and injuries

The Consumer Product Safety Commission explained that the jars cracked or broke, causing injuries to customers.

The Target Corporation department store chain has had to recall 4.9 million Threshold candles after they were reported to cause severe lacerations and burns.

As explained in a statement, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) received 137 reports detailing that the glass candle jars broke or cracked when in use. Six injuries from burns or lacerations were reported.

The price of this product, sold in all physical stores and on Target Corporation's website, ranged from $3 to $20. They were manufactured in Vietnam. Target will reimburse the money to all those who purchased the product.
