Shannen Doherty announces her cancer has spread to her brain

The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and 'Charmed' actress has been battling breast cancer since 2015. Now, the actress has announced that her diagnosis has worsened.

Shannen Doherty announced Tuesday that doctors discovered that her brain cancer has metastasized to her brain. The actress of series such as "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Charmed" has been battling breast cancer since 2015. She has openly discussed her disease since being diagnosed. She recently announced on her Instagram account that her condition has worsened and many media outlets echoed the news:

In an emotional post, the actress shared a video in which she is seen crying while undergoing her first radiation therapy session. In the post, Shannen Doherty told her followers that the images were from January 12, 2023. That day, she was told that her diagnosis had worsened. She described in the same post how she felt when she heard the news:

January 12, 2023. On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterday's video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain. January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life. I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at Cedar Sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.

Shannen Doherty's post was soon flooded with messages of encouragement from her friends and other Hollywood stars. Sarah Michelle Geller called the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star a "warrior" while her friend Selma Blair said that she would always be there for her.

This is a lot. This is a lot to take on, still again. And I am wishing for all the wise peace you have learned to find you in the terror moments. To know we are holding you. Love. All love.
