Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic informed on his Twitter account that he will not play in the US Open to be held in New York starting next August 29. The athlete cannot enter the United States because he is not vaccinated against covid.
"Unfortunately, this time I won't be able to travel to NY for the US Open. Thank you #NoleFam for your messages of love and support - good luck to the other players!" he wrote on his Twitter account.

Djokovic, three-time champion in New York and finalist in 2021, could not play the American tour in 2022, due to his refusal to be vaccinated. This same decision led him to resign from competing in the Masters 1000 of Indian Wells and Miami, after not being authorized by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States. He also missed the last Australian Open for the same reason, although he did compete at Wimbledon, where he managed to win the title against Kyrgios.
With this new setback in his career, the Australian tennis player loses 1200 points and jeopardizes his top10 status.
