NBA Playoffs: Jokić leads Nuggets to win their first Western Conference game

The Colorado franchise defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 132-126 in the first game of the series. The Serbian center's colossal performance overshadowed Anthony Davis' great offense.

The Denver Nuggets finished their first  NBA playoff game in the Western Conference finals (1-0) by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 132-126. The Colorado franchise went into halftime with a 72-54 score, which was decisive for the game's final outcome. The Lakers tried to make a come back in the third quarter, although it was not enough to turn the score around and win the game.

The star of the game was Nikola Jokić. He scored 34 points (making 100% of his three-pointers), and made 21 rebounds and 14 assists, in addition to two blocks. It is his sixth triple-double in this year’s playoffs.

The Serbian basketball player was in good company with Jamal Murray (31 points),  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (21 points) and Michael Porter Jr., who finished the game with a double-double (15 points and 10 rebounds).

Jokić's phenomenal game overshadowed Anthony Davis, who had a huge double-double (40 points and 10 rebounds), LeBron James (26 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists) and Austin Reaves who scored 15 of his 23 points from three-point range. The next game will be played at Denver's Ball Arena on Thursday, May 18.
