Los Angeles store looted by flash mob

The thieves jointly entered the store, vandalized the establishment and assaulted the employees.

The Los Angeles Police Department asked for the public's help in finding the people who gathered in a Flash Mob to jointly rob a 7-Eleven store in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.

Surveillance camera video from the store showed the thieves making off with snacks, drinks, cigarettes, lottery tickets and other merchandise. The ransackers also vandalized the store and threw the merchandise at employees. They subsequently took to the nearby streets, and quickly scattered before the police arrived.

Development of the facts

The robbers had previously gathered in the street. Onlookers at the scene got out of their vehicles to watch the robbers doing doughnuts with their vehicles skidding in a circle. This results in a series of skid marks on the cement.

According to police information, the thieves blocked traffic with their vehicles from all directions to create a pit. Bystanders then formed a Flash Mob of looters and raided the nearby 7-Eleven.

Police are continuing their investigation and are asking for citizens' help in identifying the robbers.
