An 80-year-old man who owns a liquor store in California was videotaped in an act of self-defense shooting a mugger with a shotgun. The images show the assailant entering the business with an AR-15 style rifle. The offender, seeing the owner's reaction, came out of the establishment shouting, "He shot me in the arm!".
The footage also captured another attacker who upon seeing the scene stopped and walked to a waiting black BMW SUV. Norco Market & Liquor employees said that at the time of the incident the store owner was watching the store's security cameras. When he saw the first assailant, he immediately went for the gun.

Police investigation
The main suspect, a 23-year-old man, whose identity is being kept secret, remains in critical condition in hospital. Riverside County Sheriff's deputies arrested three other offenders: Justin Johnson, Jamar Williams, and Davon Broadus. In addition, they reported that the vehicle used was reported stolen.
Johnson, Williams and Broadus are in jail on $500,000 bail for robbery and conspiracy. The prime suspect will also be booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside once he is released.
Self-defense
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office stated in a press release, "In this case, a legally armed member of our community prevented a violent crime and ensured his own safety while confronting multiple armed suspects. This investigation is active and ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time."
Citizens who legally carry guns have stopped more than 60 shootings in the United States in recent years and, although gun regulation depends on each state, 94% of mass shootings recorded since 1950 have occurred in gun free zones.
Less than two weeks ago, a young man, only 22 years old, managed to stop a massacre in Indiana. An attacker entered the Greenwood Park Mall and killed three people and injured two. At the time he was stopped by now considered a local hero, Elisjsha Dicken. The young man shot him from a distance while gesturing for crowds to evacuate the scene, according to local police information.
