Jeremy Renner continues to recover from an a snowplow accident on January 1. After two weeks in the hospital, the actor is gradually progressing with his treatment and his family has been posting the latest updates on the actor, who is best known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His sister, Kym Renner, has taken it upon herself to keep the press updated. She told People magazine that everyone was thrilled with the actor's progress:
We are so thrilled with his progress. If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn't mess around. He is crushing all the progress goals. We couldn't feel more positive about the road ahead.
However, the "blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries," sustained by the actor during his mishap with his PistonBully will require several months of recovery. Renner is not expected to be discharged any time soon, though the support from friends and fans has encouraged him to continue to fight, according to what a source close to Jeremy told People: "Jeremy is making positive progress and while he has a long road to recovery, he is overwhelmed by the showing of love and support."
Jeremy Renner wants to continue acting
One thing is clear to Jeremy Renner which is that he wants to continue acting. The actor, who recently was in the second season of The Mayor of Kingstown, has several projects ahead of him. In fact, the third season of the Paramount Plus drama is one of them. Director Hugh Dillon, told Screen Rant how he has been dealing with the news of the accident:
It was the biggest relief it was such a rollercoaster because when I got the news I wanted to fly out and find him and see him. Then he sent me a video the next day, the biggest relief in my life, because it was so funny and profane, and I was just like, okay, he's gonna come back. He's just so funny. He's like a brother to me. It's like, you know, we've worked on this show for two years. This is my show I created with Taylor Sheridan, and he's [Renner] just unstoppable. He's an exceptional talent and the crew loves him. The cast loves him. I love him, and it was, and my world stopped. I just want him to recover and then to get the video and, hey, you know, just profanity, profanity. You know, it just made me laugh and cry at the same time and I just thank God he's okay, and he's, you know, on the road to recovery.
It is not the only project that awaits the actor. Marvel let slip that they may make a second season of Hawkeye and, if confirmed, Jeremy Renner is expected to play Clint Burton in the new episodes. Co-star Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared the news with a mysterious message:
