An IRS criminal oversight agent said he has evidence of political interference in an ongoing investigation. Reports indicate that the disclosure has to do with the Biden Administration's mishandling of the Hunter Biden investigation.
Mark Lytle, attorney for the unnamed agent, explained that his client is willing to provide sensitive information in an unbiased manner about the ongoing investigation "of a high-profile, controversial subject since early 2020."
The lawyer said that the information his client would disclose would contradict testimony made before Congress by a high-ranking politician and added that it would also detail how the policy and preferential treatment improperly affected the protocols that law enforcement usually follows.
Several media outlets have confirmed the story and reported that the case referred to by the agent is that of Hunter Biden. However, the lawyer explained that before he could provide more information, his client requested whistleblower protection through a letter to members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
"My goal is to ensure that my client can properly share his lawfully protected disclosures with congressional committees. Thus, I respectfully request that your committees work with me to facilitate sharing this information with Congress legally and with the fully informed advice of counsel," Lytle said.

James Comer reacts
After the news broke, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer expressed concern that the Biden Administration may be obstructing justice in the Hunter Biden case.
"It's clear from our investigation that Hunter and other members of the Biden family engaged in deceptive, shady business schemes to avoid scrutiny as they made millions from foreign adversaries like China. We've been wondering all along where the heck the DOJ and the IRS have been. Now it appears the Biden Administration may have been working overtime to prevent the Bidens from facing any consequences," he said.
Recently it was revealed that family members of the president received more than a million dollars from an associate of Hunter who had business with China, and one of the benefited accounts was identified only as "Biden."
