HBO to premiere a documentary on Nancy Pelosi directed by her daughter Alexandra

'Pelosi in the House' will be available on the streaming platform starting Dec. 13 and will feature footage of the raid on the Capitol.

HBO announced that on Tuesday, Dec. 13, it will premiere a documentary on Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. Titled Pelosi in the House, the documentary is directed by her daughter Alexandra and will recount the life and political career of the former Speaker of the House. The film will include footage of the assault on the Capitol that took place on Jan. 6, 2021. These clips have not yet been seen by the public, but they were used as part of the investigation into the raid. They include Pelosi being recorded saying she wanted to "punch" Trump.

The film will be released just three weeks after the Democrat announced that she was stepping down as Speaker of the House of Representatives and will include footage shot over three decades of her political career.

In this way, Pelosi in the House will provide an in-depth look at Nancy Pelosi's political life from the time she began as a congresswoman in 1987 until the inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States. It will also show relevant moments of her career, such as being the first woman named Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2007.

Her daughter Alexandra, who was nominated for six Emmys in 2003 for her project Journeys with George, directed the film, which was co-produced by Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller, two HBO executives. Geof Bartz edited the documentary. No trailer has been unveiled.

The documentary will also show Pelosi's life outside of politics, featuring her husband, Paul, to whom she has been married for 59 years.
