Greg Abbott will continue to send busloads of immigrants to New York

Texas governor responds to Eric Adams after state of emergency declaration, "They experience a fraction of what Texas border communities face every day."

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said he will continue to send immigrants from the southern border to New York after the city's mayor declared a state of emergency due to the flood of illegal aliens seeking asylum.

Abbott condemned the situation in border states and announced that he will continue to send more busloads to the so-called sanctuary cities:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency on Friday to respond to the immigration crisis in the city. Adams called for urgent help from the federal and state governments and assured that the influx of immigrants will cost $1 billion this fiscal year.

According to Adams, more than 17,000 asylum seekers, mostly South Americans, have arrived to New York since last April. Texas reminded the mayor of New York that border states have been condemning the "invasion" of the border for months and the federal administration hasn’t listened to their pleas for help.

More than 3,000 migrants from Texas to New York

Texas reports that it has sent 3,100 migrants to New York City since August 5. "The busing mission is providing much-needed relief to our overwhelmed border communities," the governor's office said in a new assessment of Operation LoneStar, launched to alleviate the immigration and security crisis in the southern state.

The Governor's office noted that, since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to 311,000 migrant apprehensions and more than 20,500 criminal arrests, with more than 18,000 felony charges reported. Regarding the fight against fentanyl, the Department of Public Health (DPS) has seized more than 337 million lethal doses of fentanyl during this border mission:

Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps left by the Biden Administration's refusal to secure the border. Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise reached Texas communities and the nation because of President Biden's open borders policies.
