Texas will end woke indoctrination in its schools. This was assured by Governor Greg Abbott through his Twitter account, in which he claimed his plans to eradicate leftist attempts to impose woke ideology upon schoolchildren:
Our schools are for education, not indoctrination.
We will put a stop to this nonsense in the upcoming legislative session.
Schools must get back to fundamentals & stop pushing woke agendas.
We will pass laws to get it done.https://t.co/IMH7i5VO37 #FoxNews

Progressive activists' efforts to push woke ideology in schools will have no effect in Texas. In fact, one of the Lone Star State's school districts, Grapevine-Colleyville, rebelled and passed anti-indoctrination measures, such as boys being mandated to use boys' restrooms and girls to use girls' restrooms. With his announcement, Abbott emulates the policies of Ron DeSantis in Florida, which was the first state to implement policies against woke ideology in schools.
Teachers who boast of "indoctrinating" their students
Abbott's pledge came after learning about the case of a high school teacher who bragged about "indoctrinating her students" on her TikTok account:
For me the students are amazing about it. Pretty much all of my students call me 'Mx.' or call me by my first name. ... There are some [staff] around the school who still call me 'Ms.' I just don't have the energy or effort to correct them.
Her students do this because they know that she considers herself "non-binary":
But a lot of people falter when it comes to... 'ma'am.' And one of my students came up to me the other day and said, 'Mx., what do I call you because if I say, "Yes, ma'am," that feels disrespectful, but If I just say, "Yes," that also feels disrespectful. My genuine question is, is there a non-binary way of saying that?'
