Elon Musk criticizes Trump, says he's too old

Musk returns to Twitter to respond to former President Donald Trump after he called him out ("another bullshit artist") for announcing his intention to pull out of the purchase of the famous social network (valued at $44 billion).

"Elon. Elon. He's not going to buy Twitter," Trump said at a rally in Anchorage, Alaska, on Saturday night. This assertion was made a couple of days before Musk definitively abandoned the project to buy the social network. Trump's words seem prescient now that we know Musk is not getting Twitter.

Precisely, in response to these statements, Elon Musk pointed out that Donald Trump's days in politics must end: "It's time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail off into the sunset" (in reference to his retirement). In addition, he asked the Democrats to stop making criticisms of Trump in order to prevent Trump himself from growing up and thus strengthening his intention to return to the White House.

Musk and Trump clash over statements

This is not the first time that these two personalities have engaged in a battle on the social network Twitter. Tesla's CEO has harshly criticized Donald Trump, about whom he said he is too old for the presidency of a country like the United States or "to be CEO of anything". He even said that there should be an age limit for starting a presidential term, which he set at a maximum of 69 years.

In closing, he added a calculation: should he become president again, Donald Trump would be 82 years old at the end of his term. Musk compared him to the third oldest elected president, Ronald Reagan, who was six days shy of his 70th birthday when he was sworn in. He again denied that he had voted for Donald Trump, a rumor he had been linked to, and wanted to make it clear that he never voted for him.

Elon Musk's Support for Ron DeSantis

The Tesla founder, on the other hand, has expressed his support for the candidacy of the Governor of Florida (Ron DeSantis) for the White House. In Musk's opinion, Ron DeSantis is the only Republican candidate with a chance of challenging for the presidency: "If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will win easily, he wouldn't even need to campaign".

However, Ron DeSantis has not yet said whether he intends to run in 2024. In recent months, Musk has switched from being a Democrat to a Republican and has given his opinion on Twitter on all sorts of political issues, prompting some users to encourage him to stay "out of politics."
