The Republican Party has revitalized its chances of taking control of the House of Representatives. According to the latest CBS News/YouGov poll, the GOP has reversed the trend of recent months - which pointed to the growth of the Democratic Party - and has revived its chances of winning the House in the upcoming midterms.
As reported by CBS News, for the first time since the summer, Democrats did not narrow the Republicans' lead in the polls on future House leadership. Its analysts pointed to views on a worsening economy, gas prices and inflation.

According to the poll, the Republican advantage in the House of Representatives stabilized at 224 seats to the Democrats' 211. The reason, according to the survey, is the downturn in the country's economy. In this regard, 65% of voters said that the economy is getting worse. According to the CBS report, more voters believe that the Democrats' policies have been harmful rather than helpful to the economy, including independent voters and most especially Republican voters. And two-thirds of registered voters - of all parties - think the Biden Administration could be doing more to combat inflation.
Economy tops voter concerns
On the other hand, Breitbart News noted that 92% of Americans are concerned about rising gas prices; 91% are worried about the recession; and 86% are concerned about violent crime.
These are some of the biggest concerns of voters just weeks before the midterm elections in which Republicans seek to take back the House and Senate. The Democratic Party, for its part, is trying to downplay the importance of Joe Biden's economic management. The president himself said a few days ago that the country's economy is "strong as hell", showing his distance from the majority of the country's sentiment.
