Democratic citizens lash out at Bragg over Trump indictment

He is "the worst prosecutor in America" opined one blue party supporter who believes district resources should not be used in this case.

After Donald Trump was indicted in Manhattan Criminal Court, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg became the target of criticism from both Republicans and Democrats. Voters of both parties accuse him of turning the law into a politically motivated weapon.

The former president was accused of 34 counts of falsification of business records in the first degree, but even Democratic voters believe the case lacks strength and that the media and time being used to prosecute Trump should be spent on lowering the crime rate.

Sammy Ravelo, a former Democratic police officer opined that Bragg is "the worst prosecutor in America" and that he should stop using the district's resources on the case against Trump and instead focus on the insecurity of the New York City streets.

"A lot of distraction going on"

“They found the worst prosecutor in America to prosecute Trump because Alvin Bragg would not prosecute a Black on Black crime or Latino-Latino crime… He'll set those guys free. In the meantime, he goes after a former president (…) I think we're concentrating on the wrong thing and that this may backfire," Ravelo said, according to a Fox News report.

Marissa Caro-Cortese, another Democratic voter, expressed that although the former president is not to her liking, she was disappointed with the charges. "If we're going to start pinpointing politicians for all of their business affairs, looking deeper into things that they've done in the past, we need to investigate all of them. He's not the first person who's done this. I'm not defending him. I would never defend President Trump, but I feel like there's a lot of distraction going on," she said, stressing that the focus needs to be on "the real issue."

Dominick Ciccarelli, an independent voter, also criticized the prosecutor as politically motivated and that Americans are actually more concerned about other issues. "Alvin Bragg has spent his entire career keeping criminals out of jail, so it's impossible for me to believe that this is not politically driven," he commented.
