Washington D.C. public schools force children to pass Covid test to return to class

Students, teachers and staff of public schools must present a negative test result showing that they are not infected the day before.

The return to school after Thanksgiving break in Washington DC public schools will be contingent upon a negative Covid test. The measure will be mandatory not only for students, but also for teachers and other employees of the centers.

In a tweet from DC Public Schools, it was reported that "to support a safe return from the Thanksgiving break, all students and staff are expected to provide a negative COVID-19 test." The publication also informs when the tests must be uploaded to the official website: "Families must test their students and upload the test results on Sunday, November 27."

In line with the final Fauci recommendations

The district's website includes a link detailing the steps to follow and how to use the kit that was given to students prior to the start of the break. In addition, the portal where the results must be uploaded to demonstrate that the tests are negative is indicated.

These measures are in line with the farewell to Anthony Fauci as White House chief epidemiologist, in which he urged citizens to follow mass Covid testing after Thanksgiving and to continue getting vaccinated in order "to protect their families" and further insisted on the measures that the Biden Administration has been imposing since the beginning of the pandemic. Fauci pointed out that those who criticize them "do so because of division and ideological differences," and not because of health-related issues.
