This Monday, rumors began to circulate that former Vice President Mike Pence had officially applied to participate as a Republican Party candidate in the 2024 presidential elections.
In fact, it was shared on social networks and even in the media, the link to the document of the former vice-president's presentation to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), contains his name and much of the information needed to begin the application process. However, apparently it was not Pence who carried out the process and it was all a misunderstanding.
Given the expectations that were created, the former vice president's spokesman, Devin O'Malley, had to publicly clarify through his Twitter account that the news is not true.
"Former Vice President Mike Pence did not file to run for president today," he tweeted.

But this left a big question mark, as it did not clarify who was the person who carried out the nomination process before the FEC.
Who nominated Mike Pence?
According to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, the former vice president's spokesman commented that it may be a joke.
However, this information is insufficient for many. Media outlets have reported their attempts to get more answers by contacting O'Malley. However, no further details have yet been obtained.
Pence team says it isn't real so I deleted my other tweet.
But it begs the question of who made a Mike Pence for President filing with the FEC today lol https://t.co/yrzRs602Sv

Trump does run
A month ago who did announce his intentions to run for president was Donald Trump. However, his decision continues to spark controversy, as neither Democrats nor Republicans seem to want the former president to return to the White House.
In fact, a poll revealed that Ron DeSantis is the highest rated by Republican voters.
