Bolsonaro at CPAC says he feels his "mission" as Brazil's president is "not over yet"

The 67-year-old former president used his speech to recall many of the achievements he made during his term in office.

Jair Bolsonaro, former president of Brazil, appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and hinted that he is planning to run again for president of Latin America's largest country.

Bolsonaro, who is currently residing in Florida since December 30 of last year after losing re-election, mentioned that he feels his mission to be president of Brazil is not over.

"It is not easy to be a politician, especially when you want to honor your word and do good to your neighbor. I thank God for the mission of being president of Brazil for one term. But deep down I feel that this mission is not over yet." he said at the largest annual forum of the U.S. right.

The 67-year-old former president took the opportunity to mention some of the achievements he made during his term of office, highlighting the pride that Brazilians began to feel for their country and their flag.

"People started to understand more about politics, about the Brazilian Congress. The names of deputies and senators, and not just those of soccer players, were part of Brazil's daily life," he added. Bolsonaro also expressed his gratitude for the way he has been received and how well he feels in the United States.

"In this land of freedom, progress and order, I feel like I am in Brazil. It is very comforting to be received like this in Brazil and anywhere in the world," he commented.

Donald Trump's speech at CPAC

Another important political leader who participated in the conference was former President Donald Trump , who used his speech to talk about his plans for the country if he returns to the White House in 2024.

"In 2016, I declared that I am your voice. Today I add that I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution (...) The Biden administration is the most corrupt administration in the history of the United States (...) Hunter Biden is a criminal and nothing seems to happen to him," he affirmed.
