Actor Jim Caviezel on his latest film: "Epstein Island isn’t the only island where they have hurt children"

The performer spoke on Steve Bannon's show about the theatrical release of the controversial film 'Sound of Freedom', which deals with child trafficking.

“The most controversial film of 2023”: This is how Steve Bannon described the film Sound of Freedom during an interview with its lead actor, Jim Caviezel. The most controversial, he commented, since the same actor played Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ.”

Based on true events, the film tells the story of Tim Ballard, a former agent dedicated to freeing children trapped by trafficking networks. Ballard decides to strike out on his own after realizing that the constraints of working for an official agency do not allow him to fulfill his mission, summed up by Caviezel in a slogan: “God’s children are not for sale.”

During last Saturday’s War Room interview, Bannon and Caviezel discussed the difficulties the film had upon its debut in theaters, media censorship and the hardships Christians face. But the highlight came when the actor claimed that Epstein Island isn’t the only island where they have hurt children,” referring to the property where the former financier ran his trafficking operations, also called “Pedophile Island.”

Other islands

The exchange came when the actor was relating that during a screening in Las Vegas, he noticed that everyone in the audience began to whisper at one moment. This coincided with the part of the film in which the protagonist points to an island where he must go to perform an operation.

He then explained that when he later inquired about this strange reaction, “Epstein Island” was shouted out by the audience members. After stating this, Caviezel assured that the infamous island was not the only one where children had been “hurt.”

After an unusually long twenty seconds of silence, Bannon moved on to the next question.

A ‘necessary’ film

“I’m trying to help children,” said Caviezel, who also explained that people have a hard time watching his film because they don’t want to feel guilty for “not doing a thing” about it.

I’m pleading for my fellow countrymen to wake up to what’s happening to our children. Steve, April 26 there was a woman, a whistleblower -and God protect all our whistleblowers because they are in serious danger right now for speaking the truth- she got up and said, and this is a sworn testimony, 85.000 children have gone missing crossing the border.

That’s why, according to Caviezel, Americans should go to the movies to see his last work.

You’re at a picnic, at a barbecue, you’re enjoying yourself and, suddenly, you look around and your child is missing. What would you feel? What if I told you you have a, maybe, 99.9% chance you’re never gonna see your child again?

Uncertain path to the big screen

Like “The Passion of the Christ,” Caviezel’s latest work had to contend with numerous setbacks, some of which occurred before filming began.

The leaders at Fox refused to hire Caviezel, as he himself stated during the interview. He explained that after acting as Christ for Mel Gibson, no one wanted to include him in their projects because that was what the “central bank-controlled” studies imposed. It was Tim Ballard himself who reportedly pushed for Caviezel to be hired.

When Disney acquired Fox, it turned down the film. Although the feature film was completed last year, it will not be available in theaters until June 4. By that date, the leading actor set a goal of reaching two million tickets sold. Therefore he ensures that it makes its debut and fulfills his personal mission of helping victims of child trafficking.
