Greg Abbott announced Thursday the dispatch of a new busload of immigrants from Texas to Chicago. The Governor announced that this is the 300th bus arriving in the sanctuary city from Texas in the face of what he considers the Biden Administration's inaction on immigration.

Abbott announced the dispatch of new buses after securing his re-election as governor and in the face of alarming data at the southern border. 5.5 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Joe Biden took office as president. In the month of October alone, Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 210,000 illegal immigrants at the southern border.
"Relieve and secure the border"
The transporting of illegal immigrants on buses to Chicago is attributed to Abbott's strategy to "relieve and secure" the border. In this regard, the governor of Texas has stated on numerous occasions that he will continue to transport illegal immigrants until the president takes action to secure the border. On this occasion, Abbott has just sent the 300th bus to Chicago, additionally there are a number of other cities to which these transports also go.
The destinations chosen by Abbott are the so-called sanctuary cities. New York, Washington and Chicago each boast of welcoming illegals and so the governor of Texas has responded in this manner in an effort to manage influx of illegal immigrants at the Texas border. Leadership from the so-called sanctuary cities claim this qualifies as an invasion from the Lone Star State.
Abbott's immigration policy, among others, served the Republican well in securing a third term in Texas. The southern border with Mexico is one of the most conflictive points in the country, not only because of the arrival of foreigners, but also because of the massive influx of drugs such as fentanyl and even terrorists that endanger national security.
