A new cold front leaves tornadoes and heavy hail in several areas of Texas

Thunderstorms coupled with high winds caused damage to several facilities Thursday in the state.

Texas, the central Gulf Coast and the Southeast Plains will be affected this weekend by a cold front that could bring the risk of strong winds and heavy rain. Snow will also fall over the Northern Plains and parts of the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.

The National Weather Service warned of a possibility of wind gusts up to 70 mph. Temperatures will drop Friday night and are forecast to potentially drop in parts of North Texas. This area is under an increased risk for severe thunderstorms along with parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas.

In Irving, Texas, an automobile dealership was destroyed due to the force of the wind gusts. The intensity of the winds caused part of the establishment’s roof to fall to the ground.
